⚠️ SPOILER WARNING: FULL SPOILERS

A man with light skin, short messy brown hair, and a beard is floating in a space-like environment, viewed through a circular window or porthole. He wears a white T-shirt with red trim on the collar and sleeves, featuring two crossed checkered flags and the text "HORSE SHOE BLIND" printed on it. His glasses are hanging off the collar of his shirt. The background is dark with blue and orange glowing lights, resembling stars or distant city lights. The man looks upward with a slightly open mouth and wide eyes, conveying surprise or concern. At the bottom center of the image is the title text "PROJECT HAIL MARY" in white, with stylized letters including a triangle replacing the letter "A" in "HAIL" and "MARY." The overall tone is dramatic and sci-fi.

In “Project Hail Mary” (2026), a lone astronaut awakens to an uncertain mission, fighting for humanity's survival amid the vastness of space and the unknown.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐½ (3.5/5 stars)

Okay, first thing: overall, it wasn't a bad movie. The pacing drags at the beginning, and several scenes could have been explained more clearly or cut shorter. The second half and the ending are much stronger. The first half felt slow, and the premise is kind of stupid, but the story between the two main characters at the end is the best part.

Ryan Gosling was okay in this movie. The film was definitely too long. It's a so-so movie and not worth buying, but I'm glad it's included with my Prime subscription since it gave me something different to watch.

⚠️ SPOILER WARNING: MILD SPOILERS

A promotional poster for "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War" features a large profile of a serious-looking man with short, dark hair and a small cut on his forehead, facing left. Inside the silhouette of his head is a city skyline with a tall skyscraper, likely the Burj Khalifa, indicating a Middle Eastern setting. In front of the profile are three other characters: a middle-aged man with a stern expression and short hair, a woman with blonde hair tied back wearing a dark jacket, and a man with a goatee and mustache wearing a dark jacket, looking off to the right. Below them, there is a faint image of a soldier aiming a rifle amidst smoke and fire, suggesting military action. The title text is prominently displayed at the bottom: "TOM CLANCY'S" in small white letters, "JACK RYAN" in large, bold, white letters, and "GHOST WAR" in smaller, bold, orange letters. The overall color scheme is muted with shades of brown, gray, and blue, conveying a tense, dramatic atmosphere.

Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War (2026) brings intense espionage and action as Jack Ryan and his team navigate a deadly covert conflict in a high-stakes battle for global security.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐½ (3.5/5 stars)

I agree with the other reviews. I loved the whole cast. John Krasinski does a fantastic job as the lead, and he works well as a replacement for Harrison Ford in this whole new series. The problem was the format: as a movie it felt rushed and the story couldn’t properly develop. This would have benefited from another season or at least a limited one-season run so the characters and plot had time to breathe. The cast gave you everything, they just needed more room to do it.

⚠️ SPOILER WARNING: MILD SPOILERS

A close-up image of a man with a bruised and bloodied face, showing multiple cuts and scrapes, being punched repeatedly by several fists surrounding him. The man has short brown hair and a beard, and he wears a dark jacket over a blue shirt. His expression is one of pain and determination as he endures the assault. The background is dark, emphasizing the intensity of the scene. At the bottom of the image, the word "NOBODY" is prominently displayed in bold, distressed white capital letters against a black and white textured background. The overall tone is gritty and intense, suggesting a violent confrontation or struggle.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5 stars)

Highly, highly unbelievable yet very entertaining. Great cast. If you want to kill about two hours and are after a fun, fast-paced movie, this delivers. It’s not profound, but it does exactly what it sets out to do, entertain.

⚠️ SPOILER WARNING: FULL SPOILERS

A close-up image of the torch held by the Statue of Liberty against a cloudy, dramatic sky. The torch's flame is golden and stylized, glowing with a warm light. Surrounding the base of the flame are sandbags and two soldiers in combat gear, positioned as if in a battle, aiming rifles in opposite directions. The soldiers and sandbags create a wartime scene atop the torch. Bold, bright green text reading "CIVIL WAR" is prominently displayed across the middle of the image, partially covering the torch and soldiers. The overall tone is intense and somber, suggesting conflict and struggle.

In “Civil War” (2024), the iconic torch of liberty becomes a battleground as soldiers clash atop its flame, symbolizing the fierce struggle for freedom amid chaos.

My Rating: ½ (0.5/5 stars)

The movie stunk, and it stunk so bad I kept watching only for the action at the end. It made no sense to me. Why were we in a civil war? Seems more like a feel-good piece for the press. There were undertones of innuendo but no reason was given, nothing clear was given. It was basically like the viewer came in the middle of a tale and only got none of the backstory. Totally stupid movie. If you were supposed to guess about the relationship to today's politics, this movie will be bad in 25 years' time since there is no context at all, and I mean at all. Every good movie has some backstory, either through flashbacks or other ways. My big takeaway: no context, skip it. Don't waste 2 hours like I did. Yes, there were some good action and thrilling one-off action moments, but that was it.

Alt text: A man in a suit holding a handgun with a serious expression, set against a dark, smoky background with flames at the bottom. The text "CHIEF OF STATION" is displayed prominently at the top.

My Rating: ⭐⭐½ (2.5/5 stars)

The cast has done good work in other films, but not here. They were probably paid, but the story was terrible. Calling it a 2.5 felt generous. In my view, there was nothing redeeming about this movie.

A digital painting of a person walking down a sunlit path through a vibrant, colorful valley filled with flowers and trees. The trees have large, floating app icons instead of leaves, including icons resembling Twitter and other social media or tech platforms. The scene is bathed in warm, golden light with a dreamy, painterly texture, and butterflies flutter in the sky near the glowing sun.

A lone traveler embarks on a journey through a vibrant valley of blogging platforms, seeking the perfect path to share their voice and stories with the world.

Okay, it has been one year since I joined Micro.blog and Scribbles.page, and just over a year since I joined Write.as. I thought I would review all three services with a clear winner, a hard “can't wait for my subscription to end and won't be renewing,” and a dark horse.

I joined all three within months of each other looking to get rid of my InMotionHosting web host and get away from WordPress. I didn't like the direction that Matt Mullenweg was heading and didn't want to get burned like I did with Elon Musk and Twitter. Twitter was a special place for me as I refused to use any Zuckerberg product, especially since he ruined Instagram.

Now with the history out of the way, here we go.

Alt text: Promotional poster for the video game "Fallout" featuring three characters and a dog walking towards the viewer on a dusty road with a large, weathered "Welcome to New Vegas" sign in the background under a dusky sky. The word "Fallout" is prominently displayed at the top in bold yellow letters with a lightning bolt through the "o".

In the desolate wasteland of New Vegas, three survivors and their loyal dog embark on a perilous journey through a post-apocalyptic world where every step could be their last.

This season answered a lot of questions and introduced a few new ones. But I actually liked this season better than the first season. I think they did the flashbacks much better this season, and this is thoroughly engaging and enjoyable entertainment. The one negative I would have is that this is not the first TV show or movie that has tried to technologize the 50s after World War 2 and the 60s. I am always astonished at the technology they built but other things that seem like simpler items that they miss, and I say why doesn't the technology they have built work here or there. Oh, and I didn't miss the few references to modern day issues and Trump. I find it amazing how politics of today is meshing into TV shows. Some do it well (like here) and some don't (like the recent Superman of 2025). But one thing on the real life side is the old axiom, history seems to always repeat itself. Looking forward to Season 3.

Movie poster for "The Tank" featuring five soldiers in military uniforms sitting and standing on a large tank with a prominent gun barrel. The background shows a smoky, fiery battlefield, and the title "THE TANK" is displayed in large, bold letters at the top.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5 stars)

I thought it was partly a drama and partly a horror movie. It was engaging and it also made me think about how history repeats itself through some of its themes. It was two hours long and maybe about half an hour too long. Still, it was interesting, and it was sad in parts. A lot of what was portrayed in some scenes probably did happen.

Promotional poster for "TRON Ares" featuring a futuristic motorcycle and rider in a reflective suit, standing on a rain-soaked city street bathed in red light. The towering buildings fade into a foggy, overcast sky.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐½ (3.5/5 stars)

A solid, if unremarkable, entry in the Tron series. Jared Leto stands out, and the plot introduces a novel twist: the digital world invades ours, spotlighting AI. It's a fine way to kill almost 2 hours. However, it's not worth a theater visit. Watching it on Disney+ is your best bet.

⚠️ SPOILER WARNING: MILD SPOILERS

Promotional poster for the movie "The Pickup" featuring three characters: a woman in a black leather jacket, a man in a security uniform labeled "Guardian," and another man in a casual outfit, all surrounded by falling money.

When the heist goes right: Meet the trio behind the biggest score of their lives in 'The Pickup'.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5 stars)

“The Pickup” serves as a pleasant diversion with its fairly engaging plot and commendable performances. The film is entirely a work of fiction. A notable concern, however, is the excessive crude language, particularly from Pete Davidson, which seemed unnecessary for its comedic aspirations.
